How to cut sheet metal - PTJ Manufacturing Shop
Metal sheet Cutting Technique Introduction
Metal sheet cutting refers to a decorative technique in metal products. In this technique, the pattern is first cut from a metal plate, and then the pattern is superimposed on an object made of the same metal, usually around a protrusion such as a handle or a FINIAL.
This method is almost exclusively for silverware. This technique flourished in the 18th century, and it was seen in the silverware of France, Britain and the United States during that period.
What is cutting machine?
This technique is commonly used to cut by a cutting machine.
The cutting machine is also called a manual circular saw machine, a metal circular saw blade cutting machine, a grinding wheel cutting machine and the like.
However, for cutting with high technical and precision requirements, a wire cutter or a plasma cutter is required for cutting.
25mm thick stainless steel is still cut with a plasma cutter. If some plasma cutting machines are professionally processed, the cutting thickness ranges from 3mm to 80mm.
In the case of cutting metal steel sheets, stainless steel sheets are a good representative. The surface of stainless steel sheets is smooth, with high plasticity, toughness and mechanical strength, and is resistant to corrosion by acids, alkaline gases, solutions and other media. It is an alloy steel that is not easily rusted, but it is not absolutely rust-free. The stainless steel plate refers to a steel plate that is resistant to corrosion by weak media such as atmosphere, steam, and water, and the acid-resistant steel plate refers to a steel plate that is resistant to corrosion by chemical etching agents such as acid, alkali, and salt.
